Stephen King has long been an innovator in ways to deliver his stories to his 'constant reader'. In association with Marvel Comics books, Stephen King is bringing his most loved books to life in a graphic novel format.
The first comic book comes from Stephen King’s Dark Tower book series. This series of comic books is planned to include five different Dark Tower story arcs. These closely integrate to the seven Stephen King books: The Gunslinger, The Drawing of the Three, The Waste Lands, Wizard and Glass, Wolves of the Calla, Song of Susannah and The Dark Tower. His long time Dark Tower assistant, Robin Furth, the writer of the Dark Tower Concordence, has expanded on Stephen's vision of End World and has filled in a huge number of missing details within these comic book story arcs.
Stephen King and Robin Furth began working with the Marvel Comics book creative team consisting of writer Peter David and artists Jae Lee and Richard Isanove. Together they have created completely unique story lines and phenomenal artwork. The Dark Tower comic book series so far consists of The Gunslinger Born (7 comics), Long Road Home (5 comics) and Treachery (currently publishing towards 6 comics). The Dark Tower comic book series has consistently led the lists of the most popular comic books and is also a smash hit with traditional readers of Stephen King books.
In addition to the Dark Tower comic book series, Stephen King has now started delivery of a comic book series based on one of King’s most popular books, The Stand. The Stand comic book series just began publication in September, 2008 with the initial story arc titled Captain Trips and is expected to be another smash comic book winner with Stephen King's readers.
After editing a collection of short stories, Stephen King found himself once more anxious to delve into the short story medium. His soon to be released book is a collection of all new short stories: Just After Sunset. The Just After Sunset book includes a story entitled "N". King presented in August, 2008 this story in a new graphic audio format which blends the comic book format with audio/video formats. In addition, the story is expected to be made into a new comic book series starting in February, 2009.
Joe Hill, the son of Stephen King, has shown himself in recent years to be an astoudingly popular author in his own right. He chose to write under a pseudonym instead of his full name: Joseph Hillstrom King. Joe Hill, like his father before him, wanted to demonstrate his own book style and ability to deliver quality writing that his readers will anxiously anticipate and pursue. Joe Hill has released several books including a collection of short stories 20th Century Ghosts and his latest novel Heart Shaped Box.
The Locke & Key comic book series largely slipped under Joe Hill’s reader’s radar. Many traditional Joe Hill and Stephen King book readers are completely unaware that their favorite authors are developing compelling and interesting graphic novel concepts. Joe Hill, also like his father Stephen King, is branching out into many mediums with stories in numerous magazines as well as other comic books like Spiderman.
Finding complete sets of original comic books after they have been released is often quite difficult. Comic book dealers normally only sell individual comic books. If these comic book dealers happen to have excess comic book inventory and can make a set, then they will sell the comic book set well.
End World Comics is structured specifically to obtain and retain comic book inventory so that new comic book readers can obtain these almost impossible to locate sets. We have sets in 1st printings and current printings. We also have sets that are signed by one or more of the authors and artists.
